Gaupo's 'Golden' Birthday

April 28th that is Gaupo's birthday. He celebrated very Gaupo-ly. He did it by starting a new job. He started his new job at the City of Longmont Library as their PC Specialist. He had a really good first day. He came home exhausted, but from information overload instead of stress. It was really great. It is so fun to hear him talk about IT projects, how he will be busy for a long time, and about all the new things he is learning. I think this job really will be a great thing.

So, to celebrate his birthday Gaupo wanted cheesy potatoes (like his mom's which are different from funeral potatoes). I got those all chopped up and ready while the girls took there naps, got them in on time, and waa-la it failed. The potatoes were crunchy, so I turned up the oven and kept cooking. We didn't even get dinner together because the potatoes weren't done, but Kylee was starving so we had her have something else. Then Gaupo and I didn't eat until the girls were in bed. If that had been the only thing that evening it really probably would have been okay, but the kids were whiny, and Gaupo came home with the news about health insurance...

The great news is it starts the first of May. The bad news is none of my great doctors are covered under the new plan. This development totally threw me for a loop because I love my doctors, and the hospitals that I have used. Anyway, it wigged me out for the whole night. I have finally figured it out, and have looked up the doctors on the new plan, and we will see how it goes. I think there are some good ones, and I have heard the hospital that I will be using next is a great facility, so as those adventures happen I will try to keep you posted.

After dinner, and giving up on trying to figure everything out last night, we had Gaupo's cake. It is a deliciously simple cherry chocolate cake. Finally around 9:45 we dropped into bed.

Not really the way I would want to celebrate my birthday, but I think Gaupo was pleased and really it was a good night and day.

He are some pics of the us enjoying cake. Sorry, its all the pictures I managed to take of Gaupo's 'Golden' birthday.

Lighting the Candles.

Its a little blurry, but here we are with the candles and each other.

10 Days With Klaire

That is right, I got to spend 10 whole days with Klaire. It was awesome.

The family and I went and picked up Klaire on Monday night for Family Home Evening. It was a pleasant drive, we missed the traffic, Kylee got to play on the Ipads at the cellphone lot, and Tia was generally pretty happy. Gaupo and I did our typical making a trip where we should know where we are going mistakes. We came out of the cellphone lot and headed toward the airport. We thought we were going to the terminals, but turns out we were going to like a security check place. Anyway, we had to cut across a road we probably weren't supposed to get to them, and then we went to the wrong terminal to pick-up Klaire, but once we got all that figured out we were good to go and had no problems on the way home.

Most of Klaire's visit was filled with her just joining me doing what I do everyday. That means we went running, we ate meals with my kids, read Kylee books, went to the park, played outside, and even went to visit Gaupo at work a couple of times. We visited Gaupo once with Chick-a-fil free breakfast. It was a sausage biscuit and I was pretty sure Kylee wouldn't eat hers, but turns out she did. Her taste buds are changing and she actually is starting to like things she use to hate. Anyway, the other time we visited Guapo was for lunch because I didn't have time to make it before he left.

One thing Klaire did for us while she was here was babysit. So, Gaupo and I were able to go to Stake Conference on Saturday night. We usually do, but I didn't know what I was going to do this time because they have now invited everyone ages 12 and up to go and that takes away all of the babysitters almost, so I was glad she was here. It was a really good session and since I didn't get to pay a whole lot of attention to Sunday's meetings it was a good thing. My life change from this stake conference is accepting Pres. Richards invitation to wake up and read the scriptures for 20 min. This has been really hard, but I have noticed a difference, some days it is more than others, but it still matters. Klaire also babysat our kids so we could go to the temple. We haven't been since November and I REALLY wanted to go. It was wonderful to feel the love in that holy place. I love going to the temple. It makes me feel so good, even if it does take us an hour and a half to get home, and I had to pump. It was totally worth it.

We did do one out of the ordinary thing while Klaire was here and that is taking her to Pearl Street. We went on Saturday. It was fun to go in and out of the shops. We had a picnic, witnessed a group trying to save the planet (They were walking down the street burning marijuana and reading their script off a phone. Pretty much Boulder), and walked with the kids. It was a simple activity but I think we all enjoyed getting out and seeing some new sights.

The picnic.
Also, while Klaire was here we celebrated Easter. The Easter Bunny left an egg hunt for Kylee and Klaire. Mostly for Kylee but he did hide some hard ones so that Klaire had to help. It was so fun to watch Kylee hunt for eggs. She even enjoyed emptying the contents (1or 2 M&Ms and either 2 dimes or a quarter). We had her put the M&Ms in a bag and the coins in a jar. Then on Monday we hit the after Easter sales at Wal-Mart and used the change to buy candy and Kylee wanted a bear so that is what she got. It was really fun. We had a traditional Easter feast (ham, potatoes, amazing gravy, and corn casserole) on Sunday night. Then we finished of the night with crock-pot cake. It was a fun really chill day. Oh, we also watched the movie Because of Him. It was a really great Easter.

One of the other 'Big' things we did while Klaire was here was family pictures. So, here are couple of them.
