April 28th that is Gaupo's birthday. He celebrated very Gaupo-ly. He did it by starting a new job. He started his new job at the City of Longmont Library as their PC Specialist. He had a really good first day. He came home exhausted, but from information overload instead of stress. It was really great. It is so fun to hear him talk about IT projects, how he will be busy for a long time, and about all the new things he is learning. I think this job really will be a great thing.
So, to celebrate his birthday Gaupo wanted cheesy potatoes (like his mom's which are different from funeral potatoes). I got those all chopped up and ready while the girls took there naps, got them in on time, and waa-la it failed. The potatoes were crunchy, so I turned up the oven and kept cooking. We didn't even get dinner together because the potatoes weren't done, but Kylee was starving so we had her have something else. Then Gaupo and I didn't eat until the girls were in bed. If that had been the only thing that evening it really probably would have been okay, but the kids were whiny, and Gaupo came home with the news about health insurance...
The great news is it starts the first of May. The bad news is none of my great doctors are covered under the new plan. This development totally threw me for a loop because I love my doctors, and the hospitals that I have used. Anyway, it wigged me out for the whole night. I have finally figured it out, and have looked up the doctors on the new plan, and we will see how it goes. I think there are some good ones, and I have heard the hospital that I will be using next is a great facility, so as those adventures happen I will try to keep you posted.
After dinner, and giving up on trying to figure everything out last night, we had Gaupo's cake. It is a deliciously simple cherry chocolate cake. Finally around 9:45 we dropped into bed.
Not really the way I would want to celebrate my birthday, but I think Gaupo was pleased and really it was a good night and day.
He are some pics of the us enjoying cake. Sorry, its all the pictures I managed to take of Gaupo's 'Golden' birthday.
