1/28/2024

 Hi Grandpa,

This week was pretty calm compared to the previous couple of weeks. We had no scheduled doctor appointments, so during the day Hope and I were kind of home. We didn't exactly stay home as we went and did a couple of ministering visits and watched basketball games for Kylee, and then Tia did end up needing a doctor appointment, but Jason took her. The sickness has been at our house again. I think Kade might have caught the cold but hopefully it is almost out of here.

This week had a couple special events. First, we went to see a therapist on Monday to see if maybe Kylee has some anxiety that is causing her chest and lung pain. It was pretty darn bad appointment. The therapist pretty much told us there was nothing she could do to help us. She made me feel really uncomfortable and was just kind of weird. Needless to say, we aren't going back there. We haven't given up just yet. I have a couple more to try, so we are hoping that they go better and that maybe we can find someone that gets us.

Friday we went to Kitt's house to soak up some time with her and her boys. It was so nice to just hangout and not have any pressing things that needed to be done. Everytime I visit her I am so glad to have sister close to just be with.

The next special event was yesterday when Kylee and I went snowshoeing with the YM and YW. We went to a place called Red Rock Lake. We went with a very experienced guide and he was able to make hike just the perfect doable amount for the kids. I think some could do more, but some were done and so I think it was a good match. The views were beautiful and the wind blessedly died down, so it was a beautiful day to be out.

Then the other great news is that my parents came to visit. I am kind of bummed I don't get any alone time with them, but at least I get to see them. They are staying with Jack and his family. We had pizza and hung out last night and then today we are going over for dinner and company again. Family is such a blessing. I feel so grateful to be part of such an amazing one.
All bundled before we started

Dear Grandpa 1/21/24

This week felt really busy. By the time we got to Saturday we were all ready and then some for the weekend. Luckily this particular Saturday we didn’t have much that had to be done, so we got to have a day together having food we love and doing things we love. We slept in a little, had waffles for breakfast, and then Kylee and I worked on making banana cream pie. Kylee was the family home evening treat and it just took us until Saturday to get it made. Anyway, once we were done with that we all went swimming at the rec center. Everyone except Jason loves swimming and even he doesn’t mind it too much when we all go. The big girls did slides and the lazy River the little kids did the lazy River and swam and played in the shallow area. Then we came home and had breakfast burritos for lunch. Jason and Kade ran to the store real quick to get milk and a couple of other things. When they got home everyone but me watched the new animated movie of The Grinch. I made bread and watch bits and pieces. We got to finish the day feeding the missionaries biscuits and gravy and then took showers and played video games. It was a fun full Saturday.

I guess since I started with Saturday we will go backwards. Friday was a low key day minus that night Jason and I went on a date. We went and got dinner at a BBQ restaurant in town and then went to the church to meet up with ward members for a game night. Our food took forever to come so we were pretty late to game night but it was still fun to play what we did.

Thursday’s big event was Kylee and I driving to south Denver to see a pediatric ophthalmologist for the cyst on her eye. We totally thought they would just pop it or something in the office but we were told that it would probably pop on it’s own soon so just use the meds for 10 more days and keep up with the hot compress. It was such a long drive to not really get any help this. However, we made the drive safe. Her eyelid is looking better and we are just hoping it will go away but we will see.

Wednesday nothing really abnormal happened but it is a busy night of the week with piano, and swim lessons. Although this week Kylee and I had a RS activity at 7:00 where we painted Book of Mormons. It was a good night out with Kylee.

Tuesday Tia had an activity. It was kind of weird for her to be the only one gone with something to do. They did a get to know you activity and she had a great time.

Monday was a blast of a day too. We met up with the Bryce’s around 10:30 to play together. We started at the church were we played basketball, Pickleball, and let the kids run around. Then we came to my house for a taco salad lunch. After which the kids played together and the adults played games. We missed having the Blaylocks but it was kind of bad weather and roads day.

Here are some pics from the week.

Dear Grandpa Letter one

Hi Grandpa,

I thought I would take a quiet Sunday moment to write to you and send you a couple of pictures. We have been pretty busy this past week with school up and going and all the activities that have come with that. For the most part everyone is enjoying school. Kylee has a technology class this semester and is really enjoying that. Tia has been loving to play with all her friends which includes both boys and girls. I am happy that they seem like a prett fun bunch. Kade and Abby are still in school heaven. They both have friends, they love learning, and they have a great teacher who does many fun things. Hope loves school too because for the most part she has me to herself. She loves being able to wander around undisturbed touching and playing to her heart’s content.

Tia, Kade, and Abby are doing swim lessons this year and so far enjoy it. I love that they gain a new skill and are tired for bed. Kylee is still doing dance but is thinking about quitting and doing swim. She has until the end of the month to decide what she is going to do. She is also doing basketball. It’s been a little tricky with all the breaks and things but she seems to think it’s at least okay.

Jason is still liking his work and is trying to help people, make sure the library has what it needs and troubleshoots a lot of technical problems. He still seems very happy doing his job.

I am busy running everything else. Trying to keep family dinner time, feed good tasting food to people, run everyone where they need to go and sort of keep the house in order pretty much fills the time. It’s been a little extra lately as I have a ton of doctors appointments to run the kids to. Tia had a well child check. Kylee has had a cyst/stye in her eyelid that we have been working to get gone. Also she has been having chest and lung pain plus daily headaches. We have done tons of tests and imaging to see what was wrong and she looks completely healthy, so now we are looking into anxiety that might be causing these problems. It’s a crazy journey but we are definitely being guided and we will figure it out eventually.

Life is crazy and fun. I have the best bunch ever to live life with. I am very blessed to be able to have the time and energy to think and care for them.

Pictures: Tia, Abby,Kade, Kylee, and Bryce cousins on Ninja course at a jump place. Hope in the cozy coupe at the jump place. Kade hammering with his new hammer. Abby in a beaver outfit she thinks is so funny. Betty and Kylee making muddy buddies.

I hope you are doing well. I sure love you.
