Free Time

One of Gaupo's and his families favorite things to do is build puzzles. About a month ago, Gaupo was having a hard time sleeping and he read that if he exhausted his brain he would sleep better. So, he pulled out this puzzle we received for Christmas last year. Well, he worked on it for awhile and was going to give up because it was too big for piece of poster board and was breaking every time he moved it. However, I could see how much he loved working on it and it really was good for him, so I gave up some of my precious kitchen floor space and said he could work on it there. Well, eventually I started to join him, and after about 2 weeks of hard work we finished. I know that sounds like a long time, but for people for us that is pretty good because we didn't get to work on it that often. Also, it is a hard puzzle trust me. Anyway, we were really proud of ourselves and it looks great. By the way, Gaupo is awesome at puzzles and so patient. I don't know how he does it. I always get a headache long before he is done which is why he choses to work on puzzles and I just do it to be with him.

Our puzzle

Me and the Baby

Every once in awhile people tenderly ask how far along I am, if I wearing maternity clothes, if I am feeling okay, how is the baby doing, and what are we going to name her.

So, just so you know. I feel great. I can't run because the baby sits really low and it is kind of uncomfortable because she is heavy. However, I can walk fast and I still love being outside moving around, and driving Gaupo nuts about getting exercise. This weekend he did take a walk with me when we walked to and from the service station where we had our oil change. See every once and awhile he will take a walk. Scouts is sometimes hard because I can't chase after the boys and do the things I use to, but I am slowly learning how to cope with that too. Other than those few things I am very blessed with this pregnancy and I feel great.

As for maternity clothes, I don't own any yet, so No. That doesn't mean I couldn't or wouldn't I just don't. Most of my pants are a little tight around the tummy, but they still fit everywhere else so I just make them work. I have include a picture so that you can be the judge as to whether or not I am fat. If you think I am, please keep your comments to yourself.

About 22 weeks
As for the other questions, I am about 23 weeks along. Meaning that I am just over halfway there. The baby is doing fine. All of her measurements were good at the doctors and she keeps moving, so my guess is she is doing just fine. We don't know what to name her yet, so any suggestions are welcome. However, don't be offended if we don't name her what you suggest.

Halloween

I love the fun, and creative Halloween. I am not into creepy, bloody, or scary Halloween. With that in mind this how are celebration went. On Saturday, we went to our ward party where they had a chili cook off and dessert contest. I didn't compete, but I did make Jiffy mix corn muffins which were gone about 45 minutes into the event. It was a costume party so Guapo and I dressed up. I went as a cowgirl. This is my favorite costume even though a few essential elements are missing. If anyone wants to donate I need a belt buckle, a sparkley belt, and boots. Gaupo went as a thug. For being a white country boy, he makes a super good looking gangster. I don't have the one picture of us, but I think the ward does so just picture a pregnant cowgirl, and a super good-looking gangster and you have us that night. We had a fun time eating and visiting with the ward members and it was a good party. After, the party we went home and did my favorite Halloween tradition--pumpkin carving! I did my traditional carving. It looks like something that would be done by a six year old, but I love it and that is what matter. Gaupo didn't want to actually carve his instead he "shaved" his. It is a Dragon (his usual) and it did actually glow, but not well enough I could get it to show up. On Sunday, we celebrated with dinner in a pumpkin. It was tasty and we both enjoyed it that night and several nights and afternoons thereafter. On Monday, actual Halloween day, we turned on our light for trick or treaters (we only got one) and had dinner. Then we watched Earnest Scared Stupid complete with popcorn and candy. I ate so much candy it is ridiculous, but it was Halloween and I am just a big kid.

Our pumpkins are a good representation of our Personalities.

Looks gross, but it is actually really good.

Our Little Baby GIRL!!

About a week ago we went in to the doctor for our gender ultra sound. It was so cool to see the baby. I got to see her face which still looks rather alien like, but it was still a face. I saw her heart beat, I swear I saw her wave, but that just could be a love sick mommy. It was fun to watch her move. She was cruz'in around all over the place. It was like she was in a house or something the doctor had to keep chasing her down to get the information that was needed. It is so amazing to me that inside of me there is a precious little life. It really blows me away but still fascinates me.

So the story of the day for this doctors appointment is as follows...

I was laying there looking at my baby and the doctor asks "Are you going to find out what it is?" I said, "yes, we have decided that would probably be best." She then asked "What do you think it is?" I replied, "Well, at my appointment last time (15 weeks) the Doc said that it was probably a boy." Then the doctor looks at me kind of weird and says "Really?." I said, "that is what he told me." She replied, "That is interesting, because I am pretty sure this is a girl." After a little moment of silence the doctor asks, "Did Doc tell you, to tell me the opposite of what he thinks it is just to test me. He sometimes tells people to do that to us." I replied, "No, I think he was serious." Then the doctor just left it at that.

So, we finished looking at the baby, and gathering measurements and then Gaupo and I headed up to Doc's office. In Doc's office, we did the routine exam. What was even cooler though was Jason got to find the heart beat of the baby. That was kind of fun. Then Doc asked us what we were having. I said "Well, last time you said it was a boy, and then down there they said it was a girl, so I don't really know." Doc asked, "Was I serious last time when I said it was a boy or did I just tell you to tell them that?" I said, "I think you were serious."

Doc went downstairs and got the paperwork, and said he would duke it out with the other doctor about whether it was a boy or girl. So, doc left and a Guapo and I chatted. Then Doc came back in and said that the doctor downstairs was sure she saw girl. However, Doc said he wanted to see for himself, so after he explained the measurements and told us that everything looked good, we went to the ultrasound place on the OB floor. After, Doc looked at the baby he said "from what I see they are right, its a girl." So according to the doctors, we are having a girl. That makes our good friend Stew the only one to have  guessed right including me.

We are really excited to have a little girl. I hope I can handle it. I wanted a girl, but at the same time I seem to do so well with boys so I was really in a toss-up, so hopefully the Lord knows what he is doing and I will be able to care for and love this little girl. Another plus is, the new house we are buying has a cute pink room.

This is our Baby's little face.

This a picture of the whole thing and the cool think is the spine.
