It is beginning to fill a bit like summer around here, at least weather wise. It has started to warm up during the day, but the evenings are still wonderful. The cool evenings is the one thing I love about not being in Arizona. I miss the day time heat when I want to be swimming, but I love, love, love these cool nights.
Summer is a little different with our twinners around and summer school. Kylee is loving summer school. I have waited almost two years for my Kylee kid to come home from school and when I ask how it was to get 'it was good' with a smile. It has never been terrible for her, but she more goes because she doesn't have a choice. However, this summer is different she likes going, and I know her days aren't perfect, but whatever happens that isn't perfect doesn't overshadow everything that was good about her day. Plus, when she gets home she is looking for Tia and ready to play. I don't know if its the small class size, the more fun curriculum, better classmates, or a combination of things, but I am so grateful she enjoys going. She truly seems to actually be enjoying school which I think is awesome.
Tia I think is having a good summer. This week she is going to Dino Explorers Summer camp. It is from 1-4 in the afternoons. I don't know exactly what they do there, but they usually go outside 1 to 2 times. They apparently paint because Tia comes home all painted up. I have no idea why she chooses to paint herself and/or how she gets it everywhere, but I am so glad she is having a good time and that the mess isn't at my house. Tia has also been in swim lessons. She is learning and I think she loves going and being active in the water. I love that they are right across the street. It is so nice to have them so close. She and I also enjoy going to free lunch. I love going because I get to visit with my friends and be a little social and Tia loves to do the crafts and I think she plays with people every now and again. The food is okay, but we really don't complain because it is free.
We have brave one pool this year. We went to Kanemoto pool. It is a zero entry to 4ft deep pool. It worked out well for us and the twin really enjoyed just floating in the water. I felt a little confined which I didn't love and I have since decided I need a couple of floaty devices, so I can wade around with them, so hopefully as the summer goes on we will be able to get to the pool a little more often and enjoy the freedom of swimming.
Gaupo has been enjoying riding his bike to work and working in the yard. He is loving watching his garden grow and currently picking strawberries. He is also trying to ride his bike to and from work twice in a day few days a week. I think he is enjoying being around and not having super big projects to work on.
As for me, I am as busy as ever I feel like just helping this family run. I do love not having a mid-day pick-up. I love having Tia around and helping me. I really am going to miss her in the fall. I am loving being able to go outside a little more. I love that the twins have a routine and so I can plan things out a little bit. I love hearing my girls play. They have gotten quite into pretending lately and its really fun to listen. I would love to watch them, but it would kill the moment, so I have to be content to just listen. They are also quite the bug hunters and I work hard to keep all those rolly-pollys out of my house. I don't know how many have come in so they could show them to be, but luckily most of them have not stayed. I really don't mind bugs, but I do NOT like them in my house.
Summer is such a magical time, and I am so glad it is here.
